Medicare Supplement Plans
Medigap coverage that fills the gaps in Original Medicare
What Medigap does
Fills the cost-sharing gaps in Original Medicare
Covers your deductibles & coinsurance
Medigap absorbs the Part A hospital deductible per benefit period, the Part B 20% coinsurance, and SNF coinsurance.
Any Medicare doctor, nationwide
No networks, no referrals, no prior authorization. Plus foreign travel emergency coverage on most plans.
Federally standardized
Plan G from Humana is identical to Plan G from Aetna or BCBS — and the same applies to Plans F and N. The only difference between carriers is price.

Plan F: the most comprehensive Medigap plan
Plan F covers every gap in Original Medicare — including the Part B annual deductible — so once the policy is in place, covered services have no remaining out-of-pocket. Plan F is only available to those who became eligible for Medicare before January 1, 2020. If that's you, Plan F is worth comparing against Plan G to see which carrier and benefit combination fits best.
- Covers every standardized Medigap gap, including the Part B deductible
- Only available to those eligible for Medicare before January 1, 2020
- Typically the highest monthly premium of the three comparison plans

Plan G: the most comprehensive option for new enrollees
A choice for new Medicare enrollees. Plan G covers cost-sharing except the Part B annual deductible. Once you meet that deductible, your remaining Medicare-covered medical costs for the year are taken care of. A strong fit for people who visit doctors frequently, manage ongoing health conditions, or simply want predictability.
- Covers Part A deductible, Part B coinsurance, SNF, and more
- Only cost-sharing: the annual Part B deductible
- Mid-range premium of the three comparison plans

Plan N: the lower-premium alternative
Plan N covers most of the same cost-sharing as Plan G but includes small copays for some office visits and emergency room visits (waived if admitted), and doesn't cover Part B excess charges. In exchange, premiums are typically lower than Plan G. A choice for generally healthy people who don't mind occasional copays.
- Lower monthly premium than Plan G
- Small office visit and ER copays
- Well-suited for healthy, infrequent-visit users

Enrollment timing
Your 6-month guaranteed issue window
Starts with your Part B
The 6-month window opens the month your Medicare Part B becomes effective. This window only opens once — missing it means medical underwriting from that point forward.
No health questions
During the guaranteed issue window, SC carriers must sell you any Medigap plan they offer regardless of health history. No medical underwriting.
Harder to switch later
After the window closes, carriers can require medical underwriting and may decline or price based on pre-existing conditions. Other guaranteed issue situations may apply — contact us to see if you qualify.
Will did a great job helping my wife and I get exactly what we needed. Our situation was a bit out of the ordinary — she's in a wheelchair and on multiple expensive medicines. Will got us into the right Supplement and Drug policies. Two thumbs up from us.

Why work with us
The Medigap shortcut: compare, then save
Identical benefits, different prices
Plan G from one carrier is identical to Plan G from another. The only real differences are the premium, the rate-up methodology, and the carrier's stability, and we compare all three for you.
Full carrier access
We compare Medigap rates across every carrier selling in your area. We aren't captive to any one of them, so we can find you a competitive rate on identical benefits.
No cost to you
Our Medicare advisory services are free. Carriers pay us, and the premium is the same whether you use a broker or go direct.

Frequently Asked Questions

Medigap works alongside Original Medicare, filling cost gaps. You can see any Medicare doctor nationwide. Medicare Advantage delivers your Medicare benefits through a private plan that includes dental and vision but requires you to use its provider network.
No. Medigap only works alongside Original Medicare. Carriers are not permitted to sell a Medigap policy to someone enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan. You choose one path.
No. Medigap does not include prescription drug coverage. If you stay on Original Medicare + Medigap, you'll typically pair it with a standalone Part D plan for prescriptions.
For most new enrollees, Plan G is the most comprehensive. It covers cost-sharing except the Part B annual deductible. Plan N is a good alternative with lower premiums and modest copays. Those who became eligible for Medicare before January 1, 2020 may also want to ask about Plan F.
Premiums vary by carrier, age, and where you live, with Plan N typically the lowest of the three popular comparison plans and Plan F the highest. Because every carrier's Plan G is federally standardized to the same benefits, a quick rate comparison usually finds meaningful savings — that's the whole reason to use a broker for Medigap.
After your initial 6-month guaranteed issue period, switching typically requires medical underwriting. Insurers can review health history and potentially decline. Some federal exceptions apply — contact us to see if you qualify for guaranteed issue outside your initial window.
